The 2012 high school football season came to an end over the weekend, as five state champions were crowned in the LHSAA/State Farm Prep classic at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.

Unfortunately for Acadiana's lone representative in any of the sate finals, the Notre Dame Pioneers, they cam up short in the Class 3A title game on Saturday, falling to the Parkview Baptist Eagles, 42-7.

In Class A, Ouachita Christian captured the state crown on Friday, defeating Haynesville, 20-8.

John Curtis won the Class 2A state championship, downing Evangel Christian, 35-13, on Saturday.

Parkview Baptist conquered Class 3A, with that 42-7 win over Notre Dame.

In the Class 4A title game, Edna Karr defeated Neville, 29-22.

Finally, in the Class 5A championship game, Arbishop Rummel was a winner over Barbe, 35-14.
