SULPHUR, La. (AP) — Sulphur police says they are seeking the public's help to get information on flags stolen from Heritage Square late Sunday.

Police Chief Lewis Coats tells the American Press the black FDNY/MIA and POW/MIA flags, along with a camouflage Iraqi Freedom flag and seven 3-by-5-foot U.S. flags, were stolen between 10 p.m. and midnight.

Coats said an 8-foot flagpole was also stolen and that two poles were left damaged.

The flags were being flown near the Brimstone Museum for the upcoming Stars and Stripes in the Park event, which is held annually to commemorate Sept. 11.
