Food Friday Offers Indian Food Primer
What is Indian Food? If you have yet to try it, you may find that it is very different. Surinder Gupta of Masala Indian Kitchen joined us on the Afternoon Drive Home and helped us with Indian Food 101, defining what Curry is and other things that you will find when you eat it. Gupta mentioned that it is a food that is rich with spices and usually can be something that is very healthy. Gupta told us,
When we refer to spicy, it doesn’t refer to heat mechanism, it refers to different spices from cumin to coriander to cilantro to nutmeg to cloves, garlic and ginger. The heat mechanism is put in at the last minute.
Gupta said that Indian food has a lot more depth to it than most cooking.
