First things first, the Saints finally have a win with a final score of 31-24. After a tense game last night, which was one touchdown away from going into overtime, the Saints managed to hold back the Chargers and keep them away from a touchdown. On top of that, Drew Brees broke an incredible record last night with a touchdown pass that brought him to 48 straight games with touchdown passes in each. The record, previously held by Johnny Unitas, was broken with a 40 yard touchdown pass to Davery Henderson. To make things even better Brees managed to get suspended head coach Sean Peyton in the door to watch the momentous occasion. Even commissioner Roger Goodell had something nice to say on his twitter page, "Congrats to @drewbrees & his teammates on breaking Unitas' record. Amazing accomplishment by a great QB & leader. We're proud of you, Drew." The Saints have a bye week this week.

In other Louisiana football news, the Ragin Cajuns came, saw and conquered the Tulane Green Wave after a vicious offensive strike that put the final score of the game at 41-13. The game proved to be a simple one for the Cajuns as this was homecoming and the team was fired up to be facing an in state team. Terrance Broadway, standing in for Blaine Gautier, showed his ability to lead the team after throwing for 150 yards and running in two touchdowns himself. The next game is against North Texas this Saturday at 8:00 PM.

The LSU Tigers suffered their first loss of the season this Saturday after facing off against the Florida Gators. The Tigers' running game was completely shut down by the Gators' defense and it didn't help that the Gators came back after half time with a touchdown to put the Tigers down by one. Another Gator TD in the fourth sealed the deal. The Tigers have another challenge this week with a face-off against the third ranked South Carolina Gamecocks.
