Ford Recalls Trucks And SUVs Due To Transmission Shift Indicator Problem

For has announced a recall of roughly 350,000 trucks and SUVs due to a shift indicator problem. The concern is that these vehicles might be in a different gear than the one shown.

The Ford recall is for the 2018 F-150 pickups and the Expedition large SUVs with 10-speed automatic transmissions. Also included in the recall are 2018 F-650 and F-750 trucks with six-speed transmissions.

In Ford's statement, the company says the "clip that locks the gear shift cable to the transmission might come loose". As a result, drivers could possibly shift the vehicle into park and remove the key while the transmission is still in another gear.

For says they currently have one report of an accident due to the problem.

If you have a vehicle included in this recall you can bring it to an authorized Ford dealer and they will check to make sure the clip is installed properly.
