Former Church Point Housing Authority Executive Embezzles Thousands

The former executive of Church Point Housing Authority is being charged with embezzling. The U.S. Attorney's Office in Lafayette is charging Sarah Robert with embezzlement of more that 195,000 dollars.

In a bill of information filed in federal court Friday, her charge was labeled as one count of embezzlement of government money.

Robert stepped down after an audit discovered a discrepancy in funding. She held the post for more than 10 years. Church Point Mayor Roger Boudreaux says, " she held the post for at least 10 years without any problems."
