Former Governor Has New Love Interest

Former Governor Edwin Edwards gets out of prison early next month, but will he be swapping one "ball & chain" for another? Friends & family report that 83-year-old Edwards is romantically involved with an Alexandria woman in her 30's. Leo Honeycutt wrote Edwards biography, and confirms her name is Trina Scott. Honeycutt says Ms. Scott read the Edwards biography, and was smitten. She began sending him letters. Honeycutt says the letters turned into a personal visit at Oakdale federal prison, and the two have grown close. Edwards is now 83. Ms. Scott is in her early 30's. His brother Marion Edwards reportedly thinks the former governor will eventually marry Scott, but Honeycutt--who spent many hours with Edwards while writing the book--is skeptical.
