Former Lake Charles Catholic Priest Arrested Again After Second Victim Comes Forward
A former Catholic priest living in Duson who was arrested two weeks ago on allegations he abused a then-8-year-old child in the 1980's has been arrested again on charges that he abused yet another child.
Deputies in Calcasieu Parish say the newest victim is now 36 years old, but the alleged abuses happened from 1986 to 1991 when he was 11 - 16 years old.
"All of the incidents occurred at Our Lady of Heaven Church in Lake Charles, La. where Broussard was a priest and where the victim attended school and church," the Sheriff's Office said in a release.
Sheriff's officials say Broussard is now facing 100 counts of sexual battery and 40 counts of aggravated rape.
He was first on arrested on March 22 and charged with two counts of aggravated rape, and 52 counts of sexual battery.
Broussard's bond has been set at $2-million.
Victims of sexual abuse have until 30 years after their 18th birthday to report the abuse to police.
