Former Lake Charles Youth Program Director Pleads Guilty To Federal Sex Crime

A former area church camp director has pleaded guilty to sending nude photos of himself over the Internet to what he thought was a 14-year-old girl. The teenage girl was actually an undercover police officer. Michael Latham of Lake Charles was director of the Harris Baptist Church's youth program in Minden at the time.

Latham is scheduled to be sentenced in August. He could get up to ten years, a $250,000 fine or both.

“Today’s guilty plea embodies our ongoing commitment to keep the children of Louisiana safe by targeting those who use the internet to prey on minors,” said United States Attorney Stephanie A. Finley.
