Former Ragin’ Cajuns Softball Coach Stefni Lotief Recovering From Heart Issues
Former Ragin' Cajuns head softball coach Stefni Lotief was having some heart issues earlier this week and they put three stents in but unfortunately she was having some complications and that forced her to go back into the hospital. She is now in the ICU recovering.
Lotief is the first All-American in program history and she is also a former head coach for the Ragin' Cajuns. Lotief was a UL pitcher from 1987-90, accumulating 78 victories, which is in the top five in school history, and a career ERA. of 0.66, which is second on the school's all-time list. She is among the best to ever wear a Ragin' Cajuns softball uniform.
Lotief took over the Louisiana softball program in 2001, and had great success, she led the squad to eight NCAA Regional Championship games, three Super Regionals, and two Women's College World Series appearances.
We hope that she gets better soon and has a speedy recovery.
