Former St. Landry Parish Registrar of Voters Charged With Stalking

St. Landry Parish's former Registrar of Voters has been charged with stalking by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office after admitting to detectives that he typed and placed letters at a victim's home.

St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office Spokesperson Captain Megan Vizena stated,

"A complaint was filed with our office by the victim stating that John A. Moreau had been continuously placing letters at her residence. Multiple letters had been discovered between the months of October 2013 and January 2014. The victim found the contents of the letters to be offensive, insulting and degrading. "

Moreau was booked on the stalking charge on February 6th, and then he was released from the St. Landry Parish Jail on a $5,000 bond.
