FORT POLK, La. (AP) — Fort Polk is getting $11 million in federal funding for barracks renovations.

Sen. Mary Landrieu's office said Friday that the contract for the work was awarded through the Army Corps of Engineers.

The project includes interior and exterior work to eliminate moisture and mold in the barracks.

Landrieu says she has pressed the Army to go ahead with the renovations, which had been on hold for roughly six months.
