THIBODAUX, La. (AP) — Lafourche Parish prosecutors say a 38-year-old Raceland foster parent has been sentenced to 25 years in prison after pleading guilty to sexually abusing three girls younger than 13.

Yancy Miller pleaded guilty Wednesday to three counts of sexual battery.

The Courier reports Miller was arrested in December 2010 and charged with one count aggravated rape and two counts of sexual battery. Lafourche deputies said at the time that Miller had "inappropriate sexual contact" with a 4-year-old while he was the child's foster parent.

Kristine Russell, a parish district attorney, says the aggravated rape charge stemmed from allegations that he made one of the girls perform oral sex on him. Russell said that charge was reduced to sexual battery to avoid subjecting the girls to a trial.
