NEW IBERIA, La. (AP) — A fourth person has died following a train crash in New Iberia earlier this week.

On Tuesday, a car carrying six people was stopped on the train tracks off of La. 88 when the vehicle was hit by a train.

KATC-TV reports according to Acadian Funeral Home, 12-year-old Chase Day passed away Friday at Our Lady of Lake Medical Center in Baton Rouge.

Chase and his twin brother, along with 49-year-old Steve Leblanc, were critically injured and 12-year-olds Jayla Daigle and Trinity Schmidt, as well as driver 70-year-old Phyllis Leblanc, all of New Iberia, were killed when the train slammed into Leblanc's car.

None of the 119 passengers on the train, the Sunset Limited, was reported injured.
