A St. Mary Parish Sheriff's deputy was called out to Highway 90 last night after a complaint was called in about a reckless driver.

The deputy says that's when he found 66-year-old Manuel Booker's car partially parked in the roadway on Highway 90 in the Franklin area.

The deputy says he talked to Booker, and he smelled a strong odor of alcohol on his breath and person.

Booker took a field sobriety test, which the deputy says he failed.  He later registered a blood alcohol level of .18 on his breath test.

Booker was then arrested for driving while intoxicated.
