Franklin Man Arrested For Reckless Driving After Almost Crashing Into A Deputy’s Car

Deputies say they arrested 21-year-old William James Mora of 724 Prairie Road North after someone called in a complaint about Mora driving recklessly in the Grey Eagle Road area.

A deputy who went to investigate says that Mora was seen traveling at a high rate of speed on Sanaren Street.  The deputy says the driver then crossed right into the deputy's lane of traffic and nearly slammed into his patrol car.

Next, the the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office got another complaint of reckless driving, this time on Louisiana Highway 87.  A deputy then saw Mora later driving on Jena Street, and he was stopped for an investigation.

Mora was booked and incarcerated on charges of:

• reckless operation of a vehicle
• simple criminal damage to property
• criminal trespass

Mora's bond was set at $2,500.
