Fred Romero, Former Iberia Parish Councilman, Passes Away At Age 87

Fred Romero, who served Iberia Parish for 16 years, has died at the age of 87.

According to our news partners at KATC, Romero died Tuesday at his Coteau home. A veteran of the U.S. Army and of World War II, Romero served 16 years as the District 14 police juror and as District 14 parish councilman.

Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church will hold the funeral at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Visitation continues until 9:00 p.m. Thursday night and continues Friday at 8:00 a.m. at David Funeral Home in New Iberia.
