The Lafayette Veterinary Care Center is hosting a free Pet Health Screening Day this Saturday.

The screenings will include free services to diagnose common diseases such as diabetes, glaucoma and allergies. The clinic staff will also have a board certified cardiologist performing cardiac assessments.

Veterinarian Marc Bordelon, DVM, spoke with KPEL's Rob and Bernie this morning inviting the public to bring their furry family members for the health screenings.

The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at Lafayette Veterinary Center (110 Perard St.). The screenings will be offered free of charge on a first-come-first-served basis.

Bordelon said the screenings will require your pets to have fasted for two hours prior.
