There is an annual event at the Hilton Garden Inn in Lafayette this Saturday to help anyone who needs a dress to wear to prom.  Americorps Louisiana, Raising Cane's and The Cinderella Project of Louisiana will make it possible for every girl who needs a dress, to get one for prom.

Judd Jeansonne, spokesman for the Lafayette chapter of Americorps Louisiana, tells "Mornings With Ken and Bernie" they are happy that this is the fifth year that they are able to help any girl in the community who wants a prom dress to get one.  He says, "all a girl needs is her high school id.....they should bring it the Hilton Garden Inn.....this Saturday from 9 to 4".

Jeansonne says the Lafayette version of the is nationwide project has grown in a big way over the last five years.  He says when they first started out women were very generous, but he says it is amazing to see how much the generosity has grown over the years.  Jeansonne says with various monetary donations over the years, they have many new dresses that will be available to the young ladies this weekend.

Here is the whole story as Jeansonne shares it:

The Cinderella Project of Lafayette is open to all junior and senior high school students this Saturday March 24th at the Hilton Garden Inn Hotel which is right across from the Cajundome at the corner of West Congress and Cajundome Blvd.
