Free Retinal Screenings For Diabetics Today At LGMC

Lafayette General Health services is teaming up with Intelligent Retinal Imaging Systems today to offer free retinal screenings to diabetics today.

The leading cause of blindness in adults that are between 18 and 64-years-old is diabetic retinopahty.

Are you diabetic?  If so, take advantage of today's free screening for diabetic retinopathy until 4 o'clock this afternnoon at LGMC's Owen Auditorium.  And no need to worry, your eyes WILL NOT be dialated for the test.

Statistics show that up to 60 percent of people with diabetes do not get tested once a year, as is recommended, and often the lack of testing leads to blindness.

The test will take only five minutes, and it is free to anyone who has not had their diabetic retinopathy test in the last year.
