Funeral Services for Former Crowley Mayor

Funeral services for former Crowley Mayor Robert Istre will be held Wednesday at Northside Assembly of God beginning at 1 PM. The former mayor graduated from Crowley High School in 1955 and served eight years in the Louisiana Army National Guard. He also served on the city council for four years before being elected as the city's 20th mayor. He served in that role until his retirement in 1997. Istre died yesterday. He was 76.
