Republic Services and the Recycling Foundation will run their regularly scheduled residential garbage and recycling collection routes in Lafayette Parish on Good Friday, Lafayette Consolidated Government announced.

Regular Friday garbage and recycling customers should place their waste containers out at the curb on Thursday evening for collection on Friday.

The entire week following Easter (March 28 thru April 1), all residential customers served by Republic Services in Lafayette Parish may place excess bagged garbage that does not fit in the automated garbage cart on the ground for collection. This is the “excess garbage collection” following the Easter Sunday holiday.

The bagged garbage should be placed at least three feet away from the automated cart. Excess garbage should not be placed in boxes or in standard garbage cans.

The Lafayette Consolidated Government Compost Facility at 400 Dugas Rd., off of N. University Ave., will be closed on Good Friday, and will remain closed until Monday, March 28.
