The first question of last night's Republican candidates debate got a really serious response from Newt Gingrich.

The question had to do with allegations made against Gingrich by his former wife Marianne Gingrich during her interview with ABC.  The first question last night was asking Gingrich if he wanted to comment on Marianne's allegations that he asked her for an open marriage.  Newt Gingrich was outraged saying that he could not believe that question was the first one asked during the opening of a national Presidential debate.

Metro Source news goes on to detail other aspects of the debate with Gingrich and the race: Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich went on the offensive early during last night's GOP presidential debate after asked about ABC's plan to air an interview with one of his former wives.  Gingrich said he's appalled that CNN would begin a presidential debate with a question like that.  Gingrich added he is tired of the elite media protecting President Obama.  The four remaining Republican presidential candidates squared off in a debate in Charleston, South Carolina just days before the state primary there.  Texas Governor Rick Perry dropped out of the race earlier in the day.
