There are few things better than helping out in your own community. Mitzi Breaux from United Blood Services stopped by KPEL's Acadiana's Morning News to talk about some new incentives to spur blood donations in our area.

This time of year, donations are typically down. But unfortunately, the need for blood and blood products actually goes up. Now is the time you can get involved and give blood to help Acadiana.

Today's program which is being called M.A.S.H. BASH stands for "Make A Survivor Happen" is going on today at the Army recruitment center on Surrey Street in Lafayette. That's across the street from Lafayette Parish Schools and near the airport. Be one of the first 260 people to donate today and receive a free M.A.S.H t-shirt along with a sheet of ride tickets for this weeks Cajun Heartland State Fair.
