ALEXANDRIA, La. (AP) — A Rapides Parish school principal has been suspended with pay after being accused of failing to conduct observations and/or evaluations.

The allegations against Brian Parmley, principal of both the high school and elementary school in Glenmora, became public Tuesday when Superintendent Nason Authement asked the school board to approve a resolution to set a date for a hearing.

Authement requested that the allegations not be made part of the public record at Tuesday's special board meeting, but Parmley's attorney, Wesley Johnson, said her client wished that they be made public.

The board voted 4-4 on the motion to set the hearing. The tie vote means no hearing will be conducted at this time.

Parmley attended the meeting but said he had no comment at this time.
