GONZALES, La. (AP) — A 33-year-old New Orleans man has been booked on six counts of first-degree robbery stemming from holdups at Gonzales restaurants and stores from late October through last week.

Sgt. Steven Nethken tells The Advocate Barney Powell Bynum Jr. was arrested Friday after being spotted by a Gonzales warrants officer.

Nethken says Bynum, acting alone, over the past 10 weeks in Gonzales held up a Subway sandwich shop, on Oct. 29; a Family Dollar store, Nov. 7; the Golden Buddha restaurant, Nov. 20; a Dollar General, Dec. 18; a Pizza Hut, Dec. 28; and a Dollar Tree, Jan. 8.

Bynum was also booked with a fugitive warrant on a count of armed robbery in New Orleans.

It was unclear whether Bynum has an attorney.
