I have been trying to organize my life lately, and while doing some research I came across a good schedule for keeping a clean house.

The Good Housekeeping website featured a graphic that includes things you should do to help keep your house clean. They were broken down into things you need to do every day, every week, every month, every 3-6 months, etc.

On the daily list are things like making the bed, doing the dishes, cleaning the coffee machine, wiping down kitchen and bathroom surfaces, sweeping, etc.

On the weekly list, they include changing the bedding, dusting, mopping, cleaning microwave, mirrors, etc.

Monthly has you cleaning the dishwasher (those need to be cleaned??), dusting light fixtures, vacuuming vents, etc.

Every 3-6 months, the refrigerator, oven, deck, freezer and drains get attention.

Each year, fireplace, gutters, garage, etc.

I know that housekeeping isn't everyone's favorite activity, but I think that if I keep this list handy, it'll help remind me to stay on task, and it will help me keep a tidier home!
