A new study believes governance of Louisiana's public colleges should remain as-is, for the most part. The Governance Commission recommends against consolidating the state's four university system boards into one. Instead, the panel suggests giving the Board of Regents more power over the four boards and the state dollars allocated to them. Most of the 21 suggestions the Commission adopted yesterday still need legislative approval before they are enacted.
