When you think of the word "smelly," you may normally think "stinky." But that's not what GQ Magazine means when they say New Orleans is one of the top ten "Smelliest Cities on the Planet." In its latest edition, the Big Easy is ranked third. Scent-critic Chandler Burr writes that "New Orleans exudes the South's signature perfume from every street corner." That "perfume" is made up of odors coming from the humidity penetrating wood porches, dead moss, frying fat, old beer and lush grass.
