Grade Requirements Going Up for Students in Extracurricular Activities
The Senate Education Committee has unanimously approved a bill raising grade requirements for students. Students who want to take part in sports and other extracurricular activities would have to have better grades. Lafayette Representative Rickey Hardy says the LHSAA has already adopted a standard requiring a "C" average. Hardy says he simply wants to codify that into state law. The bill has passed the house and goes next to the Senate floor.
