COLFAX, La. (AP) — Grant Parish authorities say a disturbance in the Fishville community led sheriff's deputies to arrest a parish constable.

Deputies tell The Town Talk 55-year-old Richard Armstrong was booked Monday with aggravated assault, aggravated obstruction of a roadway, false imprisonment, reckless operation of a motor vehicle and malfeasance.

Deputies say Armstrong pulled his truck in front of the vehicle his wife and daughter were in and tried to stop them from passing. When they drove around Armstrong, he activated the emergency lights in his personal truck, passed them again and blocked their path, forcing them to stop in the middle of Highway 165.

Deputies arrested Armstrong a short time later at his home south of Pollock.

It was unclear whether Armstrong has an attorney.
