Workforce Commission Helps Vets In 8 Parishes
Greg Ganier of the Louisiana Workforce Commission visited 'Mornings With Ken and Bernie' today and described how the Commission is helping veterans from eight Acadiana parishes. According to Ganier,
We bring various resources to the employer. The Commission sets up and runs job fairs. We also provide seminars and workshops. In addition we help facilitate on-the-job training.
We help all veterans get jobs regardless of age or length of service.
Resumes are one of the most important things veterans need to learn to produce according to Ganier.
An employer may spend eight to fifteen seconds reading a resume so a person must make sure it is attention-getting in the first line or two.
