Scientists are expressing concern about an increase in the number of fish from the Gulf of Mexico with health problems, including skin lesions, fin rot, spots and liver blood clots. The question of whether the illnesses are related to the BP oil spill may be answered by scientists along the Gulf Coast, including University of West Florida biologist William Patterson-the-third.  Patterson is conducting research on the chronic effects of last year's oil spill on Gulf fish.
