For the second consecutive week, Louisiana Ragin' Cajun southpaw Gunner Leger has been named the LSWA (Louisiana Sports Writers Association) pitcher of the week.

Last Friday in a shutout win over Appalachian State, Leger threw 7 scoreless innings, allowing only 2 hits, and matched his career best in strikeouts with 10.

His 0.85 ERA is best in the Sun Belt Conference.

Last week, Leger shared the LSWA pitcher of the week honor with LSU's Jared Poche. This week, Gunner is the sole recipient of the honor.

LSU outfielder and Lafayette High graduate Antoine Duplantis is the LSWA hitter of the week after batting .425 in the last 5 contests for the Tigers. He was also named the national player and SEC player of the week yesterday.
