Hammond Police Getting A New Headquarters

HAMMOND, La. (AP) — The Hammond Police Department is getting a new headquarters building.

The Advocate reports (http://bit.ly/McArCb ) Mayor Mayson Foster said the city has received a $600,000 state grant to buy a Hancock Bank building in the downtown area.

The building will be converted for use as the Police Department's headquarters.
