NEW ORLEANS (AP) — A better picture of redevelopment plans for New Orleans' last barracks-style public housing complex will be presented to the public Thursday.

The Housing Authority of New Orleans is holding a meeting to discuss redevelopment plans for the Iberville public housing project, which sits next to the French Quarter.

Last year, officials announced a major plan to redevelop the old housing development long considered a drag on revitalizing the city's downtown business district.

Redeveloping the Iberville complex is expected to spur major changes at the back side of the French Quarter in the area known as Treme, which is considered America's oldest black neighborhood.
