Tonight at Veteran's Day ceremonies in New Iberia former Congressman Jeff Landry presented a check from participating sponsors for the purchase of a new van for VFW Post 182 in New Iberia. The van will be used to transport the Honor Guard to official functions and to provide transportation for vets having healthcare appointments in Alexandria.

Landry said, Acadiana's veterans put our country first, fought for our freedom and protected our liberties. Unfortunately, they've had a difficult time receiving the respect and care they deserve...As a veteran, I have seen up close the sacrifices our men and women in the military make to serve our country. And I believe we must fulfill the commitments our nation has made to our veterans.
