A wild finish to an escaped inmate's run from the law. State Police say it all happened on I-10 near Sulphur. Troopers clocked Charles J. Doyle driving 99-miles-per-hour in a 50. A pursuit started, and at one point, troopers say Doyle was doing more than 125.

The chase ended when Doyle tried to exit the interstate, but he drove off the road and struck a guardrail. He then tried to run away on foot, but police found him hiding in a drainage ditch.

Doyle was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center on several charges, including fleeing from an officer and doing more than 125 in a 70-mile-per-hour zone.
