Highway 90 eastbound will be down to one lane between Petroleum Parkway and Ailler Road in Youngsville starting this Friday.

The work is scheduled for Friday, May 17, to Tuesday May 21 between 6 o'clock in the morning to 7 o'clock at night.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development says the work being done during the closure is related to the $4.9 million project to install J-turns on highway 90 between Billeaud Overpass and Wall Road.

They say the J-turn design will safely and efficiently manage traffic and eliminate left-turn and through movements from side roads and driveways into crossovers.  All vehicles will be have to turn right and then U-turn at a median opening down the road.

About 40,000 drivers a day travel on that particular portion of highway 90. DOTD says the work on the four-mile project began in November 2012 and should be completed by fall 2013.
