Hit And Run Suspect Arrested In St. Mary Parish

St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Deputies say a 19-year-old man was arrested Saturday afternoon for unauthorized use of a vehicle and hit and run driving.

Deputies were investigating a complaint that Darrell Jackson had stole their car.

Police say Jackson crashed the car into a telephone pole on Chitimacha Trail in the Charenton area.

A deputy found Jackson at his home, and he took him to the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office in Franklin for questioning.

Police say Jackson admitting to taking the car without permission and wrecking it into the telephone pole.

Jackson was taken to jail.
