I came across a recipe online that worked well for me when I was cleaning up the inside of my Jeep. The ingredients are cheaper than buying cleaning solutions, and it’s safer for you and your family.

Here’s the recipe:

  • I cup club soda
  • ½ cup vinegar
  • ½ cup Dawn dishwashing liquid (I like the blue one!)
  • 1/3 cup lemon juice
  • Put all of the ingredients into a spray bottle (if you don’t have a spray bottle, you can just dip the brush into the solution when using) and shake until well blended.

This solution is cheaper than most commercial cleaners, is less toxic, and works as well as the other cleaners.

I use this mix on my cloth seats, seatbelts, carpets, dashboard, console, steering wheel – I even use it to clean my sun visors! This mix cleans the inside of my Jeep well (and the vinegar helps neutralize odors!).

(As always, spray in an inconspicuous spot to test for colorfastness.)

Spray on the surface and then use a stiff brush to work into the material and work OUT stains/dirt/grime/whatever your kids drug into the car. Then use a clean cloth to blot up the remainder of the spray and whatever grime you were able to loosen.

Happy cleaning!
