Today on 'Mornings With Ken & Bernie' our 'Winging It Wednesday' panelists included Carol Ross, Warren Caudle and Don Clausen sitting in for Mike Stagg.  As usual we had three questions for our panelists and the first question concerning the UL Horse Farm produced the most heated discussion.

  • The UL Horse Farm sale has been approved.  What do you think of the sale and use of the property as a “passive park”?
  • Governor Jindal has used line item vetoes to remove $2 million from the budget of Lt. Gov. Jay Dardenne and $500,000 from the budget of State Treasurer John Kennedy.  Both Dardenne and Kennedy have been critical of the Governor’s budget process this year.  Do you think the Governor is punishing them for theircomments?
  • In Michigan State Reps Lisa Brown and Barb Byrum have been indefinitely banned from speaking on the House floor because one used the word ‘vasectomy’ and the other used the word ‘vagina’ during debate on anti-abortion legislation last week. What are your thoughts?

Warren Caudle said,

"I don't even know what a 'passive park' is.  First we have a lot of parks here in Lafayette already and I don't think we have enough money to buy the property.  Can we afford it?  I guess not."

On the same issue Carol Ross said,

"I sat on the committee looking into the purchase of the horse farm and I've never seen such a broad cross-section of the community agree that this is good idea, a good use of our tax dollars that will pay benefits for the entire community."
