ST. JOSEPH, La. (AP) — Police in St. Joseph, La., say a man who shot two hostages in a bank was mentally unstable and believed a device had been implanted in his brain.

Police stormed the Tensas State Bank some 12 hours after they say 20-year-old Fuaed Abdo Ahmed took three bank employees hostage.

One hostage was released last night, but police say hours later Ahmed shot the other two as police entered the bank.

Police shot and killed Ahmed and one of the hostages also died.
