Dr. Ramesh Kolluru visited with "Mornings With Ken & Bernie" today and explained a "code-a-thon" called Cajun Code Fest was recently held in Lafayette.  Programmers and so called "code geeks" were invited to participate in the event at the Picard Education Center at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.  Kolluru said at similar events nationwide "over a 12 to 18 month period fifty new products were developed".

Dr. Kolluru said, "in addition to the new products developed 12 start-up companies got created because of these code fests".

Other such events were held at MIT, Harvard and other big-name schools but Kolluru said Lafayette had better attendance with double the number of participants.  According to Dr. Kolluru 298 people attended the Cajun Code-Fest.
