Huge Synthetic Marijuana Bust In St. Landry Parish

Nearly $40,000.00 of synthetic marijuana - about 21.5 pounds - is now off the streets following a recent traffic stop on Highway 190 near Lawtell.

St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office spokesperson Captain Megan Vizena says, following the traffic stop, they searched a 2003 Ford Crown Victoria and found about 968 ten gram packets of 9 different types of synthetic marijuana.

"This investigation is still ongoing, therefore, the names of the suspects are being with held at this time,” Vizena added.
