Human Remains Found In Centerville Cane Field

A Centerville farmer found an unlikely discovery in a cane field this weekend — human remains.

Sheriff's deputies went to the cane field on Highway 317 in Centerville Friday in response to the  farmer's call about finding human remains in the cane field.

St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office's spokesman Jimmy Broussard says officers were unable to determine any identification of the remains and that an investigation, including a scheduled autopsy, is under way.

He said the St. Mary Parish Corner's Office is working on the investigation.
