Hurricane season doesn't officially end until the end of November, but the typical period of peak activity is well behind us.

The fourth hurricane of the 2015 season has formed in the Atlantic, north of Bermuda. AP reports Kate reached hurricane strength early Wednesday morning, with 75 mph winds.

As of 3 am Central time, the center of Hurricane Kate was located about 260 miles north of Bermuda, and moving northeast at about 45 mph. That path will take it out to sea, and into the north Atlantic, where it's not expected to be a threat.
