The 2013 Atlantic hurricane season officially ends today and Louisiana has been blessed with an absence.

Up to 20 named storms were predicted however only 13 named storms formed in the Atlantic Basin. Stacey Stewart of the National Hurricane Center says conditions in the Atlantic were not favorable for storm formation and only two storms developed into hurricanes. Humberto and Ingrid formed in September but neither of them developed into Category 3 strength.

When the 2013 Hurricane Season officially ends at midnight tonight it will have produced the lowest number of storms since 1982.
