I-10 East Bound On Basin Bridge Closed Due To 18 Wheeler Fire

As of 7:30pm Eastbound I-10 is closed on the Atchafalya Basin Bridge due to a tractor-trailer fire.  According to State Police Troop I spokesperson Trooper Stephen Hammonds the truck carrying produce caught fire after a tire blow-out near mile marker 118.  There was no hazardous material on board but the interstate Eastbound will be closed for an indeterminate time.  Motorists should use US 190 or US 90 as alternate routes Eastbound.  State Police are diverting traffic already on I-10 Eastbound to I-49 North.
