There are three major lane closures happening on I-10 this upcoming weekend. The first two closures begin on Friday.

First, beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Friday and lasting until Monday, Sept. 14 at 6:30 a.m., the westbound right lane of I-10 between LA 415 and the West Baton Rouge Parish line will be closed for repair. Traffic officials say you can expect heavy delays.

Second, in East Baton Rouge Parish, beginning at 7:00 p.m. Friday and lasting until 6:00 a.m. Monday, Sept. 14, the outside lane in the northbound and southbound direction on LA 3064 (Essen Lane) will be closed between Essen Park Avenue and United Plaza Boulevard as crews work on concrete pouring operations, excavation and saw-cutting. There will also be base and concrete work happening on the I-10 eastbound on-ramp, I-10 westbound off-ramp and the I-10 westbound on-ramp. Traffic officials say travel lanes may shift in these areas to one side be channeled through the work zone.

Lastly, in Iberville Parish, on Saturday and Sunday, there will be single lane closures happening on I-10 East and West bound from the Iberville Parish line to the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge. These lane closures - which are to allow crews to patch the roadway - will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday and last until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.

As always, DOTD officials ask for your patience and awareness as you are driving through these areas.
